YU HEI (羽黑) was my BA project, Design of a Contemporary Chinese Heiti.
YU Hei is inspired by the the most original handwritten Chinese characters. The centre of all the characters is higher than the normal Heiti. And the body is not a completely square but a rectangle, which matches more with the writing habit and aesthetic habit. The strokes are inspired by Yanti ( a font from Tang Dynasty), based on the basic feature of general Heiti. So they are more organic and you can see the humanity.
